Alternate Visions
Exhibition Proposal
Alternate Visions is an exhibition that continues Rene di Rosa’s legacy. It showcases the work of six award winning Northern California artists living and working in the Davis/Sacramento area. They work in a variety of disciplines, mediums and subject matter. Each has an extensive body of work with a unique style and vision that stands apart from the others. The interplay between their pieces presents a stunning overall visual experience in both the second and third dimensions… and possibly the fourth dimension as well. This show presents a depth and appreciation of color, space and time. Uniting the work is an underlying, often quirky, sense of humor, varying doses of surrealism and a commitment to an alternate view of the world around us which is open to the viewer’s interpretation. The work conveys an offbeat, sometimes haunting interpretation of the human condition, primordial dreamscapes, internal landscapes and the essence of light and energy.
